Every website submission is a non-binding expression of interest. LFE is not currently selling passenger service, reserving seats or reef grids, accepting payment through these forms, or guaranteeing a mission, outcome, asset, date, or location.
1. Prelaunch status and acceptance
The Lionfish Experiment, LLC (“LFE”) is in a theoretical, prelaunch planning and validation phase. These terms apply when a visitor uses LFE’s website, submits a form, requests information, expresses sponsorship interest, or provides field intelligence. Using those features acknowledges these terms, but does not create a commercial, passenger, employment, partnership, investment, or agency relationship.
2. Interest is not a reservation or purchase
An inquiry, requested budget range, preferred timing, participant count, or selected sponsorship pathway is an early-interest signal only. It does not hold inventory, reserve a place, establish priority, set a price, or obligate either party. Any future commitment would require a separate written agreement approved by LFE and the participant or sponsor.
3. Proposed expedition-seat participation
Expedition seats describe a proposed future observer, sponsor, research, media, or mission-participation experience. Dates, routes, vessels, crew, activities, eligibility, accommodations, and capacity remain subject to validation, vessel availability, safety plans, permits, insurance, weather, operating limits, and applicable law.
- No passenger service is currently being offered through this site.
- Future participants may need to complete separate applications, waivers, health or fitness disclosures, safety briefings, and participation agreements.
- LFE may postpone, modify, relocate, or decline proposed participation when safety, capacity, compliance, or mission needs require it.
4. Reef-grid sponsorship
A reef grid is a proposed planning, monitoring, and mission-support construct. Sponsoring a grid would not convey ownership of land, seabed, water, habitat, data, wildlife, ecological credits, intellectual property, exclusive access, or any other property interest. Grid boundaries, methods, locations, baselines, reporting, and recognition remain subject to scientific, operational, regulatory, and commercial validation.
No ecological result, removal volume, restoration outcome, reporting cadence, or public recognition is guaranteed. Any future sponsorship would be governed by a proposal-specific written agreement.
5. Mission-capability sponsorship
Interest in supporting a vessel, equipment package, survey, prototype, expedition, or operating capability initiates a planning conversation only. LFE will not treat a website form, email exchange, presentation, or verbal discussion as authority to accept funds or perform work. Scope, benefits, recognition, data rights, milestones, payment terms, and cancellation provisions must be documented in a separate signed agreement.
6. Representative materials and projections
Vessel, property, facility, equipment, map, listing, concept, rendering, and sample images may be representative planning references. Unless expressly stated in a signed agreement, they are not assets currently owned, leased, reserved, controlled, or guaranteed by LFE. Availability, price, condition, configuration, licensing, and suitability can change.
Performance targets, schedules, financial illustrations, biomass estimates, capture scenarios, and mission concepts are forward-looking planning assumptions—not operating results or promises.
7. Field-intelligence submissions
A submitter represents that information is shared in good faith, is reasonably accurate to the submitter’s knowledge, and may lawfully be provided. LFE may validate, normalize, combine, aggregate, de-identify, restrict, retain, or decline submitted material. Submission does not guarantee public display, operational use, attribution, compensation, or follow-up.
LFE’s field-intelligence intake is separate from an official report to the U.S. Geological Survey or another authority. When an official invasive-species record is intended, use the appropriate government reporting channel. Do not submit protected site coordinates, private property information, export-controlled material, confidential research, or personal information about another person without permission.
8. External services and links
Links to USGS SIREN, mapping systems, listings, publications, or other third-party services are provided for context. A link does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, data-sharing, or approval. Third-party services operate under their own terms, privacy practices, access rules, and availability.
9. Communications and privacy
Submitting an inquiry permits LFE to use the supplied contact information to respond, clarify interest, and provide relevant prelaunch updates. Data handling is described in the Privacy & Data Use notice. A visitor may request correction or deletion of contact information, subject to legal, security, and recordkeeping needs.
10. Safety and eligibility
Future field, vessel, diving, research, and expedition activities may carry material risk. Participation may require minimum age, medical or fitness clearance, maritime or diving credentials, insurance, background or safety review, training, waivers, and compliance with crew instructions. LFE may decline or end participation when eligibility, conduct, safety, legal, or mission requirements are not met.
11. Intellectual property and brand use
LFE names, marks, concepts, documents, images, designs, and website materials may not be copied or used to imply endorsement, partnership, sponsorship, investment approval, mission participation, or regulatory acceptance without written permission. A future agreement may grant specific, limited recognition rights.
12. No reliance and future changes
Website materials are informational and planning-oriented. They are not legal, investment, scientific, ecological, regulatory, tax, insurance, or safety advice, and they do not guarantee commercial viability or mission success. LFE may update these terms as the operating model, offerings, compliance posture, and technology mature. A signed, proposal-specific agreement will control if it conflicts with this page.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms or a proposed participation pathway may be directed to Use the LFE inquiry form. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by a new effective date before any payment or binding reservation pathway is introduced.
